Global Flags
These flags work with every command. They can appear anywhere in the argument list.
Flags
--json / -j
Output structured JSON to stdout. All commands support this. Human-readable text goes to stderr, data goes to stdout.
cabal status --json
cabal wallet -jJSON success responses have this shape:
{
"ok": true,
"data": { ... }
}JSON error responses:
{
"ok": false,
"error": {
"code": "UNAUTHORIZED",
"message": "No API key found",
"suggestion": "Run 'cabal login' to authenticate."
}
}Preview responses (when --yes is not set):
{
"ok": true,
"preview": true,
"data": { ... }
}--yes / -y
Execute mutations without preview. By default, commands that modify state (trade, post, token launch, config set) show a preview and exit. Add --yes to commit the action.
# Preview only
cabal trade -c sol -i SOL -o USDC -a 0.1
# Actually execute
cabal trade -c sol -i SOL -o USDC -a 0.1 --yes--quiet / -q
Suppress hints and banners. The CLI normally shows helpful follow-up suggestions after commands. Use --quiet to silence them.
cabal status --quiet
cabal trade -c sol -i SOL -o USDC -a 0.1 --yes --quiet--verbose
Debug output to stderr. Shows additional diagnostic information.
cabal trade -c sol -i SOL -o USDC -a 0.1 --verbose--version / -V
Print the CLI version and exit.
cabal --version--help / -h
Show help. Without a command, shows the full command list. With a command, shows per-command help.
cabal --help
cabal trade --help
cabal help trade

Output Conventions
- stdout is for data only. If
--jsonis set, structured JSON goes here. In human mode, formatted output goes here. - stderr is for everything else: progress spinners, hints, errors, prompts.
- ANSI colors are automatically stripped when stdout is not a TTY (piped output).
- In non-TTY mode, interactive prompts are disabled. All required values must be passed as flags.
